Me

Hi. I'm K.C. 

I'm a Professional Writing and Editing (hereafter PWE) student and freelance creative writer based in Melbourne, Australia. This means I'm learning just how much I have yet to learn about writing, I do like to spend my free time with fingers on the keyboard, and I get woken up every morning by the squawking of rainbow lorikeets.

I'm non-op trans* in that confusing no-man's land of being a femme guy with not much interest in medical transitioning. This makes my sexuality confusing, so I've given up on trying to find a word for it other than 'queer'. I have a chronic pain disability impacting my hands, which is a pretty real disability for a writer. I also suffer from depression and anxiety disorders (also pretty real disabilities for anyone), and I'm a dysfunctional family and assault survivor. 

I also know something about horses, sewing, life as a slave to a cat, being stared at on the train, typesetter instructions, therapy, European heavy metal, and 80s-era My Little Pony. My essential fashion items are rainbow shoelaces and coloured suspenders. I adore mint ice-cream. I also have a raft of rubber ducks on my windowsill. Monster High dolls are cool.

I'm currently working on two novels and any number of shorter stories. One day, when I have conquered the urge to overwrite everything, and found an agent and editor who will put up with me, I would like to be published. More importantly, I'd like to be an editor, and put my knowledge of typesetter-speak and mood of the verb to good use.
